Hello all I am interested in painting skins and would like some suggestions on the best way to go about getting started. I do not race online much but would rather just work on skins. Any suggestions on the best way to get started would be appreciated.

Thanks for those links there is a lot of great info. I have a couple of other dumb questions. If you want to make a skin do you have to start w/a blank template or can you just down load a skin a erase or recover it? Also what is the differnce in making skins for DTR2 and RFactor other than the game they are played in. One more really dumb question. I keep seeing DTR2 and DTRSC so what is the difference, sorry for my ignorance.

I can answer a few questions ,DTR2 is "Dirt Track Racing 2" it has latemodles, modifieds and prostock cars. DTRSC Iis "Dirt Track Racing Sprintcars " and it only has sprintcars. The painting questions as far as DTR2 and RFactor not sure I think it is a little more indepth in RFactor but I'm not a painter so someone eles willl need to help ya on that one. I believe you can download a skin and change what you want to make it look different.

hey mike
if your talking about painting sprint cars for dtrsc and dtr2 the main difference is
dtr2 has a 512 texture which is twice the size of dtrsc.
if your just starting out do what ever you want.
when you get some experience youll be able to paint one faster
with a good template than tring to repaint one.
if you need a template and guide for dtrsc let me know,
i have 3 sprint cars for dtr2 and 3 different templates.
anymore questions give me a shout.

i dont think they want you running any addons here at fuo.
if your talking about running multi player with someone else with you
you both need to have the same thing.
