I would like to invite all of the DWR Group members to please come out and start participating in the activities on the new SimWizards.com site. This is the site that has been in development since around November to replace all the current websites. It has been put in place in order to consolidate the content of the three current sites (SlinginDirt, diRtFactor, and NSARA) which in turn will greatly simplify the site navigation. On top of that, there is a plethora of new additions/functions.
At the same time you find a lot of new things, there are a few that are not fully, 100% functional. We have tried to make note of this or just leave certain things out until they are ready to go. Please keep this in mind when you come upon things, and if you need to make note of it, please do so in the forum. Our goal was to have the site as close to completion as possible before a total public release, and we are just about at that point. With a project this size, it actually helps us to get feedback from the members though in order to tweak settings and menu placement to make the navigation the best for all involved.
As far as logins and membership goes. The only people that have anything to be concerned with are those that created new accounts in the last week and a half, some of you may have to reregister, but over 99% of the user accounts were transferred over and are active.
Please take some time to read the news content that is in place now that will help you to see many of the new features. The focus of the new site is to be as all inclusive as possible. We are focused on the sim racing community as a whole. We want to give a home to people to show off their game add-ons, we wanted to give people a place AND THE TOOLS to promote/build their leagues and race teams, and so much more. All members now are a part of the PitStop Page social networking system which allows you to create your own webpage with a fairly high degree of customization.
Last of all, and just to reiterate, this is still a “Work in Progress” to an extent. The forums are close to being done, but there are some sections that are not finished. Please post all questions about issues in there. If you run into any issues on the site, you may need to upgrade your browser. We highly recommend FireFox, Opera would be the second choice with IE7 as the third.
Here is an example of a "PitStop Page" that you can create. Click on my buddy list to see some of the others who have done this.
